Making Maple Syrup
Sand Road Sugar Camp offers a variety of activities. Foremost of course is observing the maple syrup making process. Brian and his helpers are always willing to explain and demonstrate what this entails. What is especially interesting is that Sand Road makes it's maple syrup using the traditional WOOD FIRED EVAPORATOR. A platform step allows anyone interested to actually see the bubbling sap as it boils and moves along to become the end product - pure maple syrup.

Taffy on snow
A delectable treat if ever there was one: Hot maple syrup boiled to taffy consistency, slowly poured on fresh new snow, then rolled on a stick., then slowly eaten to appreciate and enjoy the coolest, sweetest taste sensation ever..

Sleigh Rides
On weekends , (or other days by prior reservation) a sleigh pulled by 'Tamara' and 'Lady' gives the young at heart a ride through our sugar bush and red pine plantation. Or if you prefer............

Forest Nature Trails
Sand Road Sugar Camp in partnership with Resource Stewardship, S.D. & G Council and Eastern Ontario Model Forest, offers a self-guided 'Demonstration Forest' walking tour. Numbered signs along the trail correspond to numbered well explained stops in our pamphlet. An interesting educational Eco Tour, well worth the effort.

Snowshoes & Skis
For the outdoor sports enthusiast .........good exercise to build a healthy appetite.

Children's Play Area
A favorite spot for the younger set: climbing and gliding on a Canada safety approved play structure. The kids love it.

A 'sugaring off party'
This is nothing less than a whole lot of fun! It involves a group getting together and doing the whole sugar bush experience - - seeing the maple syrup making process, sampling the taffy on snow, eating to your heart's content, and possibly taking a sleigh ride or dancing to country music. Sand Road Sugar Camp is fully licensed. The possibilities are many. Contact us for reservations and special requests.
